The Dey Group, Inc. and Vale International

Dr. Dey recently (October 2010) presented his latest series of two-day workshops entitiled "Winning at Work" for new managers for at the northern nickel mining town of Thomspon, Manitoba, Canada.

"Winning at Work" gives Vale's Leaders-in-Training an introduction to the interpersonal communication skills sets and general leadership theory that allows for effective leadership by these new team managers as they re-enter the workforce in their new roles in relation to a union workforce.

 

The Dey Group, Inc. and A.T.Still School of Osteopathic Medicine / School of Healthcare Managment (Kirksville, MO)

The Dey Group has been hired to create Masters Courses in Human Resource Management skills, as well as three four-credit Masters-level courses that individually act as cross-disciplinary electives, and together form a concentration that prepares Masters students to understand and facilitate the creation of an environment in the workplace that allows for effective executive coaching and associated skills to flow naturally. These courses include both asynchronous class room and technologically advanced synchrous audio-visual mentoring components that create a cutting edge learning environment for the students of A.T. STill University. Students began to gain access to these new executive coaching courses beginning with the Fall Semester of 2009. Consider giving the course catelog a look - A. T. Still is a fine school to earn your diploma at whether locally or online! These courses are part of a continuing string of coursework that The Dey Group is working with A.T.Still's School of Health Medicine to develop in the fields of Human Relations, Leadership, and Executive Coaching.

SHM 842 Human Resource Management (Fall of 2008): The course examines the building and management of a working human resources strategy. It introduces motivation, personality, leadership, and total quality theories. It explores the application of these theories to the management of individuals and groups. Organizational culture, job analysis, recruitment, retention, selection, placement, training, compensation, and organizational development are presented as a management continuum. The analysis of environmental, economic, and legal constraints and their impact on human resources strategies is presented. Management tools for improving human resource practices and productivity are introduced.

Executive Coaching (Available from Fall of 2009):

SHM 865 Ethical and Professional Principles of Executive Coaching: This course provides an overview of coaching, its history, value, and appropriate uses within the realm of health management. Various types of coaching and the creation of environments conducive to coaching are covered. Basic coaching skills are addressed.

SHM 866 Interpersonal Communication Skills in Coaching: An understanding of personal behavioral and communication styles, learning to read behavioral and communication styles of others, and the amazing power of skillful listening are the focus of this course.

SHM 867 Problem-Solving Skills in Coaching: The What, Why, When, and How model for coaching is introduced. This course covers how to help others meet their goals, how to coach yourself through your own needs and goals, how to work through anger (self and others), and how to deal with the range of emotions. Influencing others with power versus persuasion and coaching groups in collaborative problem-solving situations provides the student with practical skills that can be applied in any setting.

The Dey Group, Inc. and Lincoln Park Public Schools (Lincoln Park, MI)

The Dey Group is overseeing the historical renovation of The Telescope and Observatory on the grounds of The Lincoln Park Public School Systems, first built over 45 years ago in 1964, and home to a marvelous hand-ground mirror dating from a science class at the school in 1961. Having received a $15,000.00 grant from the Toshiba America Foundation to replace the original telescope and mount with a research-grade state of the art Celestron C14 Optical Tube Assembly mounted on a Losmandy Titan Mount on a permanent pier, preparation of the building to recieve the new telescope are underway. The telescope will include a dedicated Lundt Solar Scope for solar observing of sunspots and coronal events in Hydrogen alpha, with a cooled video cam connected to school internet by fiber optic cable, allowing students to view real-time events over monitors in the classroom. The Dey Group, Inc. and Auburn Theological Seminary (Manhattan, NYC)

The Dey Group is in co-creative negotions with Auburn Theological Seminary to help create comprehensive asynchronous and synchronous coach training curriculum for both clergy and non-clergy, with the goal of eventually achieving a fully accredited coach training program through the Seminary, and meeting the guidlines of the Graduate School Alliance of Executive Coaching . The goal for realization of this project is Spring 2011.




The Dey Group, Inc. and The Graduate School Allicance of Executive Coaching (GSAEC)

Dr. Dey is a founding board member of the Graduate School Alliance of Executive Coaching www.gsaec.org as a representative on behalf of Belleuve University . GSAEC is a growing organization of Institutions of Higher Learning dedicated to the creation of globally accepted standards of training for Executive Coaching with a view towards consistent skills for graduates of GSAEC - approved programs that can will be recognized by industry when hiring executive coaches.
